Toronto Raptors two-way guard Chucky Hepburn has undergone surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee and will be re-evaluated in roughly six weeks, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.
The 22-year-old, who played three seasons at Wisconsin before transferring to Louisville for 2024/25, went undrafted in June and signed a two-way deal with Toronto. He has appeared in two NBA games, logging 13 minutes of late-game action, but has been a key contributor for Raptors 905. In 18 G League Tip-Off Tournament and regular-season contests, the 6-foot guard is averaging 12.4 points, 8.6 assists, 2.3 steals and 2.1 rebounds while shooting .415/.368/.871 in 29.3 minutes per game.
Hepburn’s absence is not expected to alter the Raptors’ NBA rotation, yet Raptors 905 will be without their leading playmaker for at least six weeks.
Other injury updates
Center Jakob Poeltl (back) completed a light practice Thursday in Boston but will sit out his ninth straight game Friday against the Celtics, Sportsnet’s Michael Grange reported. Forward Scottie Barnes (right knee sprain) and guard Brandon Ingram (right thumb sprain) are listed as questionable for the matchup, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet added.
