Sacramento Kings rookie center Maxime Raynaud will undergo an MRI on his left knee Saturday in Sacramento after being helped off the court late in Friday’s game, according to the Sacramento Bee. The second-round pick, who has played 25 games and started 11, is averaging 10.5 points and 6.3 rebounds. “I’ll be fine,” Raynaud said. “It was just scary.”
Los Angeles Lakers
Luka Doncic and LeBron James powered the Lakers to a 128-121 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday. Doncic hit 17 of 20 free throws on his way to 34 points, eight assists and six rebounds, while James added 31 points, nine rebounds and six assists. It was the first time since March that both stars topped 30 points in the same contest. “We’re trying to find ways that we can be productive,” James said.
Rookie wing Dalton Knecht logged 11 reserve minutes but went scoreless on 0-for-2 shooting. Head coach JJ Redick stressed that Knecht will be evaluated primarily on effort, not scoring. After appearing in 78 games last season, Knecht’s role has been sharply reduced this year.
Phoenix Suns
Guard Grayson Allen missed his eighth straight game Friday but is closing in on a return from a right knee injury. Head coach Jordan Ott said Allen took part in full 5-on-5 activity Thursday and responded well. Allen is expected to join another full practice before being cleared for game action.
