Karl-Anthony Towns missed the New York Knicks’ matchup with the Atlanta Hawks on Jan. 3 after being sidelined by a stomach ailment, the team said shortly before tip-off.
New York went on to lose the game without its starting center, who had appeared in every contest this season until Saturday’s absence. The Knicks did not specify how long Towns might remain out, noting only that his condition will be monitored daily.
The 28-year-old, acquired by the Knicks in the offseason, has been a central figure in the club’s frontcourt rotation. Team officials said an update on his availability will be provided when more information is known.
