Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James said he is not thrilled about suiting up on December 25, telling reporters he would “much rather be at home” than take part in the NBA’s annual Christmas Day slate.

The comment was made ahead of the Lakers’ upcoming holiday matchup, according to a report published Monday, December 22, 2025. James did not elaborate on his feelings beyond the brief remark.

The 20-time All-Star has frequently appeared in the league’s marquee Christmas broadcast during his career, including nine times since joining Los Angeles in 2018.

James and the Lakers are scheduled to play on the road for this year’s Christmas game. Tip-off is set for 5:00 p.m. ET.
