The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their seventh consecutive game on Friday night, falling 118-109 to the New York Knicks at Fiserv Forum despite a dominant performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo returned from a four-game absence caused by a groin strain and finished with 30 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists in just 28 minutes. The defeat left Milwaukee at 8-12.
Star calls for renewed focus
Speaking afterward, the two-time MVP delivered a blunt assessment of the team’s skid.
“Nobody should have a personal agenda,” he said. “Worry only about winning mentality. Winning mindset.”
Antetokounmpo added that the Bucks have fallen into bad habits. “You cannot worry about one shot or two shots you miss; we’ve got to get back to the mindset that we’ve got to compete. This is not a one-man show.”
Milwaukee ranks 20th in the NBA in opponents’ field-goal percentage, and Antetokounmpo pointed to defense as a priority. “Do your job. Defend. Do the little things. Sometimes, when you worry about the little things, all the other things add up.”
Quick turnaround
The Bucks host the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday, and Antetokounmpo said he plans to increase his workload. “Tomorrow, I will play more minutes,” he noted. “I’m going to try to help the team win.”
