November 16, 2025 — San Antonio’s Victor Wembanyama was held out of Sunday’s road game against Sacramento because of left calf soreness, marking the first contest he has missed this season. Head coach Mitch Johnson said the decision was precautionary after the 7’4″ center reported tightness. “We’ve seen around this league that calf issues can’t be taken lightly,” Johnson told reporters. “We need more information and don’t want to push it.”
Johnson added that rookie guard Dylan Harper, the No. 2 overall pick, is progressing from a left calf strain. The 19-year-old is out of his walking boot and has begun ramp-up work. “It’s getting better,” Johnson said. “For every day he was off the court, we have to build him back up.”
Heat
In Miami, guard Tyler Herro practiced Sunday for the first time since undergoing ankle surgery in September. The 2025 All-Star said he hopes to debut “in about a week or two” if there are no setbacks. Center Bam Adebayo also practiced but will miss his sixth straight game Monday with a left big toe sprain. Head coach Erik Spoelstra declined to set a timetable for either player, noting their participation was “a big step.”
Pacers
Indiana wing Bennedict Mathurin, sidelined the past 11 games with a right great toe sprain, has been upgraded to questionable for Monday’s matchup in Detroit. League sources indicate the 23-year-old is on track to play. Before the injury, Mathurin averaged 31.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his first two outings.
Suns
Phoenix guard Grayson Allen suffered a right quad contusion during Thursday’s win over Indiana and did not return after halftime. He missed Sunday’s meeting with Atlanta and is considered day-to-day, according to head coach Jordan Ott.
