Veteran NBA forward Marcus Morris no longer faces criminal claims in Nevada after settling outstanding gambling markers with two Las Vegas resorts, court filings show.
Prosecutors dropped all counts this week once Morris, 35, covered a total of $265,000 owed to MGM Grand and Wynn Las Vegas. He had obtained markers for $115,000 at MGM in May 2024 and $150,000 at Wynn the following month. Both checks later bounced, prompting two felony allegations in each case: passing a bad check exceeding $1,200 with intent to defraud and theft of $100,000 or more.
Authorities arrested Morris last month at a South Florida airport when the balances remained unpaid. On Instagram, he said he has routinely used casino credit and never planned to deceive the properties, writing, “I would pay anything to stay outta jail … Money paid back and lesson learned.”
Morris finished the 2023-24 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers and was not on an NBA roster last year. The forward has appeared in 820 regular-season games for eight franchises since entering the league in 2011.
