The Los Angeles Lakers reached an agreement with undrafted guard Peter Suder on a two-way contract shortly after the 2026 NBA Draft, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Suder, 22, earned Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors at Miami (OH) after averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals. The 6-foot-6, 215-pound senior shot 54.6 percent from the field and 42.1 percent from three-point range while guiding the RedHawks to a 31-0 regular-season record.

The signing fills the Lakers’ second of three available two-way slots; the first went to former Vanderbilt forward Ak Okereke. Two-way players can split time between the NBA roster and its G League affiliate, giving Suder a chance to earn minutes during Summer League and beyond.

Draft-night moves

Los Angeles entered the 2026 draft with the No. 25 pick but sent cash to the New York Knicks to move up one spot and select Baylor guard Cameron Carr at No. 24. The club later acquired the No. 56 pick from the Chicago Bulls for cash considerations, then flipped that selection to the Dallas Mavericks for additional cash before the pick was made.

With Summer League approaching, the Lakers’ roster now features Carr, Suder, Okereke and former Kentucky wing Adou Thiero, with one two-way slot still open.
