After securing the top selection in the 2026 NBA Draft lottery, the Washington Wizards will choose first in what many talent evaluators describe as one of the strongest classes in recent years.
AJ Dybantsa, BYU
Dybantsa, a 6-foot-9 wing, is widely viewed as the early favorite. The freshman averaged 25.5 points on 51 percent shooting for BYU, scoring from all three levels and offering notable length.
Darryn Peterson, Kansas
Peterson dealt with injuries during the season but still posted more than 20 points per game and connected on 38 percent of his three-point attempts. Scouts believe a full return to form athletically would further raise his stock.
Cameron Boozer, Duke
Boozer delivered 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists as an 18-year-old freshman, guiding Duke deep into the NCAA Tournament. While elite athleticism is a question mark, his production and court vision keep him in the conversation.
Caleb Wilson, North Carolina
At roughly 6-foot-10 with a 7-foot wingspan, Wilson averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds while contributing defensively across multiple positions. His outside shot remains a work in progress, but the physical tools stand out.
With several high-end prospects available, Washington’s front office faces a pivotal decision ahead of the June 2026 draft.
