The Portland Trail Blazers have acquired center Micah Potter on a waiver claim, according to the NBA’s official transaction log.
Indiana waived the 28-year-old on Wednesday while creating first-apron room to finalize a deal with veteran big man Larry Nance Jr. Portland placed a claim before the 48-hour window expired, taking over Potter’s minimum-salary contract.
Potter is coming off his most active NBA season, appearing in 47 games for the injury-depleted Pacers in 2025/26. He averaged 9.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 19.3 minutes, shooting 51.5 percent from the field, 42.3 percent from three and 84.2 percent at the line.
The 6-9 center’s deal includes a $2.8 million team option for 2026/27 that remains non-guaranteed, a condition that now transfers to the Trail Blazers. Because the contract is at the league minimum, Portland could claim it under the minimum-salary exception without using cap space.
Potter joins a crowded middle that also features Donovan Clingan, Robert Williams III and rookie Yang Hansen. Williams has battled injuries in recent seasons, while Hansen has yet to play an NBA game, giving Potter a potential path to backup minutes as a floor-spacing option.
