The Minnesota Timberwolves’ backcourt depth continues to thin ahead of Thursday’s Game 6 against the Denver Nuggets. Already without Donte DiVincenzo (torn Achilles) and Anthony Edwards (knee bone bruise), the club has now designated both Ayo Dosunmu (right calf soreness) and Bones Hyland (left knee soreness) as questionable.

Hyland logged a personal best for the series in Game 5, playing 23 minutes and scoring 15 points. Dosunmu was instrumental in Minnesota’s home victories in Games 3 and 4, combining for 68 points on 23-of-32 shooting (71.9%). If either guard is sidelined, Minnesota will likely lean more heavily on Mike Conley, Terrence Shannon Jr., and Kyle Anderson while trying to clinch the series.

Spurs’ Champagnie steps up in closeout win

Julian Champagnie has appeared in every game since March 2024 and started 68 times this season. The Spurs wing delivered 11 points in the first quarter and 19 overall in Tuesday’s Game 5 series-clinching victory. “All series they tried to limit his touches,” teammate Stephon Castle said. “When he finally got the looks he deserved, he knocked them down.”

Mavericks’ Martin changes agencies

Caleb Martin has signed with CAA for representation. The Mavericks wing becomes eligible for an extension this summer as he enters the third year of a four-year contract worth more than $35 million. After averaging a career-low 3.9 points per game in 2025/26, a new deal appears unlikely at this stage.

ESPN outlines potential Kawhi Leonard trades

With speculation swirling around the Clippers, ESPN’s Zach Kram and Andre Snellings proposed four hypothetical trade packages for Kawhi Leonard, while Bobby Marks evaluated which offer Los Angeles might favor.

The New Orleans Pelicans are hiring Kurt Joseph from the University of Nebraska to serve as director of strength and conditioning. The move is part of a broader offseason overhaul that has included several vacancies in the franchise’s medical and performance departments.
