The Oklahoma City Thunder protected home court again, defeating the Phoenix Suns 120-107 in Game 2 to move ahead 2-0 in their first-round matchup.
Williams Exits in Third Quarter
Second-year swingman Jalen Williams scored 19 points on near-perfect shooting in the first half but landed awkwardly early in the third quarter and immediately grabbed his left leg. He did not return. The play appeared to aggravate the hamstring issue that sidelined him earlier this season. Oklahoma City did not provide an immediate update.
Turnover Margin Remains Decisive
The Thunder forced 21 turnovers while committing only 10, converting those Phoenix mistakes into 22 points. The same disparity helped decide Game 1 and has given Oklahoma City control of the series.
Gilgeous-Alexander Sets the Pace
All-NBA guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 37 points, dictating tempo throughout the night. After briefly flexing his shooting hand early, he showed no lingering effects and repeatedly found scoring lanes to keep the Suns at arm’s length.
Phoenix trimmed a double-digit deficit to single digits in the fourth quarter, but Oklahoma City’s early cushion held. The series shifts to Footprint Center for Game 3, where the Suns will try to respond and the Thunder will monitor Williams’s status.
