The Oklahoma City Thunder have exercised their team options for the 2026/27 season on guards Nikola Topic and Cason Wallace, the club announced Sunday.
Wallace, selected 10th overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, will receive a guaranteed salary of $7,420,806 in what will be his fourth year in the league. The 21-year-old, who turns 22 next month, becomes eligible for a rookie-scale extension during the 2026 offseason.
Topic, the No. 12 pick in the 2024 draft, is now set to earn $5,429,760 in 2026/27, his third NBA season. Both players already held guaranteed contracts for the 2025/26 campaign.
Recent production and injury updates
Wallace has been a rotation fixture for the defending champions over the past two years. In 68 regular-season contests last season, he averaged 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals while shooting 47.4% from the field, 35.6% from three-point range and 81.1% at the foul line across 27.6 minutes per game.
Topic, 20, missed all of his rookie year after tearing his ACL. His regular-season debut is not expected until at least November as he recovers from a recent testicular procedure.
NBA teams have until Oct. 31 to finalize decisions on 2026/27 rookie-scale options.
