Phoenix, AZ — The NBA has imposed a $25,000 fine on Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green for using profane language while interrupting a live television interview with teammate Collin Gillespie, the league announced on Tuesday.

The incident occurred Monday night at Capital One Arena after the Suns defeated the Washington Wizards, 115–101. As Gillespie spoke with a broadcaster following his 25-point, six-assist performance, Green interjected with an expletive that was captured on-air.

Despite nursing a right hamstring strain, Green traveled with the team to Washington. The 23-year-old first strained the muscle during training camp, aggravated it in mid-October during his ramp-up process, missed the first eight regular-season games, logged 23 minutes in his early-November debut, and re-injured the hamstring a few days later after seven minutes on the court.

This season marks the first year of Green’s three-year, $105 million rookie-scale extension, paying him approximately $33.6 million. The fine represents a small fraction of that salary.
