Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and team executives remain in discussions about a new contract, but no deadline has been set for an agreement, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.
Kerr’s previous deal expired at the end of the 2023-24 season. After the campaign concluded, the 58-year-old coach said he was unsure of his next step. He has since met with team leadership, yet both sides have indicated that a resolution could take time.
Owner Joe Lacob told reporters the decision might come “today, tomorrow or in three weeks,” suggesting the organization is not rushing the process.
Kerr has guided Golden State for 10 seasons, winning four championships and becoming the public face of the franchise’s modern run of success. As the roster evolves and expectations remain high, the coach would be entering what would be his 13th season with the club if a new agreement is reached.
For now, negotiations continue with no firm timetable for completion.
