The Toronto Raptors announced Saturday that starting point guard Immanuel Quickley will not play again in the first-round playoff series versus the Cleveland Cavaliers because of a lingering right hamstring injury.
Quickley had already missed the opening three games and, according to the team, aggravated the same hamstring while rehabbing. Toronto did not disclose additional details, saying only that his condition will be updated “as appropriate.”
The Raptors trimmed Cleveland’s series lead to 2-1 with a 126-104 victory in Game 3, but they will remain without their floor general when Game 4 tips off Sunday afternoon at Scotiabank Arena.
During the regular season the 24-year-old averaged 16.4 points, a career-best 5.9 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 31.9 minutes across 70 appearances. He topped the 20-point mark 20 times and registered eight double-doubles while directing an offense that often revolves around wings Scottie Barnes, Brandon Ingram and RJ Barrett.
With Quickley sidelined, head coach Darko Rajaković has started rookies JaKobe Walter and Jamal Shead in the backcourt over the first three contests against Cleveland.
