The Toronto Raptors will finish their opening playoff matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers without starting guard Immanuel Quickley. The club announced Friday that Quickley re-aggravated the right hamstring injury that had already sidelined him for the first three games of the series, according to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.
Team officials said the setback occurred during the player’s ramp-up program but did not provide a timetable for his return. The release also made no mention of his availability should Toronto advance; the Raptors currently trail the best-of-seven series 2–1.
Quickley, 25, appeared in 70 regular-season games after missing most of last year with injuries, averaging 16.4 points and 5.9 assists. In his absence this postseason, rookie Jamal Shead has started two contests, while fellow rookie JaKobe Walter opened Game 3—a 126-104 Toronto victory.
Head coach Darko Rajaković has not yet said who will replace Quickley going forward. Options include Shead, Walter, and first-year forward Collin Murray-Boyles, who delivered 22 points and eight rebounds in 28 minutes off the bench in Game 3.
