Toronto Raptors forward Brandon Ingram is expected to be fully cleared for the start of training camp after having a heel spur removed from his right foot, the team announced.

According to the Raptors, the procedure was performed to eliminate persistent pain that first surfaced late in the regular season. What was initially diagnosed as heel inflammation worsened during Toronto’s first-round playoff series, forcing Ingram to miss Games 6 and 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The surgery closes the book on an otherwise successful comeback year for the 26-year-old. After appearing in just 18 contests the previous season, Ingram started all 77 games in 2023-24, leading Toronto with 21.5 points per game while adding 5.6 rebounds and 3.7 assists on efficient shooting.

The organization said Ingram will begin with rest and light rehabilitation before gradually resuming full basketball activities. Barring setbacks, he is projected to have most of the summer to train and continue expanding his role in head coach Darko Rajaković’s system.
