The Detroit Pistons may be without two key reserves when they host the Cleveland Cavaliers for tonight’s pivotal Game 4 of their second-round playoff series.
Guard Caris LeVert is dealing with a right heel contusion, while swingman Kevin Huerter is nursing a left adductor strain, according to the team’s latest injury report. Both players are officially listed as questionable.
LeVert’s postseason workload has varied dramatically. He has logged as many as 25 minutes in a game this spring but also recorded a DNP-Coach’s Decision in Game 7 of Detroit’s opening-round series against Orlando. Through the first three contests against Cleveland, he is averaging 13 minutes, highlighted by a six-point, four-steal performance in 17 minutes during Game 3.
Huerter provided steady bench minutes in March and April to close the regular season. He appeared in the first four games of the Orlando series but exited Game 4 after just three minutes because of the adductor issue.
Both LeVert and Huerter participated in Monday morning’s shootaround, giving Detroit hope that at least one could be available as the Pistons try to even the series at two games apiece.
