The Indiana Pacers have signed veteran guard Cameron Payne and waived fellow point guard Delon Wright, the club announced on October 9 2025.

Payne, 31, joins Indiana on a training-camp contract after appearing in 72 regular-season games for the New York Knicks last year. The left-hander averaged 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 15.1 minutes while shooting 40.1 percent from the field, 36.3 percent from three and 90.7 percent at the foul line. He opened the Knicks’ first-round series against Detroit with 14 points off the bench and a plus-23 rating but fell out of the rotation during the Eastern Conference Finals as his shooting numbers dipped.

Originally the 14th overall pick in the 2015 draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Payne has logged 477 regular-season appearances with Oklahoma City, Chicago, Cleveland, Phoenix, Milwaukee, Philadelphia and New York.

Wright, 33, and Payne were teammates in New York last season after the Knicks acquired Wright from Milwaukee at the trade deadline. Wright averaged 3.1 points over 40 regular-season games split between the Bucks and Knicks, including 4.3 points and 2.1 assists per game in New York. He played in six postseason contests. Since entering the league in 2015, the veteran has suited up for 10 NBA teams and totaled 548 regular-season games.

The Pacers had brought Wright to camp on an Exhibit 9 non-guaranteed deal late last month. He saw four minutes of action in Tuesday’s preseason opener before leaving after a head-to-head collision.
