The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to a two-way contract with free-agent forward Chaney Johnson, according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post. The deal was completed on December 26, leaving the club with a full complement of two-way players.

Johnson, 23, stands 6-foot-7 and spent the 2024/25 college season as a key reserve for Auburn. He averaged 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 23.5 minutes over 38 games, helping the Tigers reach the Final Four.

Undrafted in June, the Alabama native joined the Cavaliers for training camp on an Exhibit 10 contract but was waived before the regular season. He remained in the organization with the G League’s Cleveland Charge, where he opened the 2025/26 campaign. Through 16 appearances with the Charge, Johnson produced 12.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 blocks while shooting 60.4 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from three-point range and 73.1 percent at the foul line.

Brooklyn was the only NBA team with a two-way vacancy, so no corresponding roster move was required.
