Multiple teams around the league are bracing for hefty price tags but little movement among this summer’s restricted free agents, according to reporting from ESPN’s Tim Bontemps.

Pistons: Duren Likely to Stay

Detroit is widely expected to match any offer sheet for center Jalen Duren, despite his uneven postseason. Rival executives told ESPN the 20-year-old remains a priority for the Pistons and could secure a contract worth close to $40 million per season.

“If he wants a max, they’ll tell him to go get one,” an Eastern Conference executive said. “But he’s Cade’s guy.”

Jazz: Kessler Still in the Plan

In Utah, the consensus is that the Jazz will keep shot-blocking specialist Walker Kessler. Even after acquiring Jaren Jackson Jr. during the season, front-office personnel project Kessler’s next deal in the $25 million–$30 million annual range.

“It appears Utah is gearing up to keep him,” an Eastern Conference scout noted.

Lakers: Reaves Expected to Re-Sign

Austin Reaves should also remain with the Los Angeles Lakers. League insiders estimate his market at roughly $40 million per year. While the Brooklyn Nets have surfaced as a possible bidder, most executives anticipate the Lakers and Reaves will reach an agreement.

“The Lakers need to keep him,” one scout said.

Trail Blazers: Williams Drawing Interest

After enjoying his healthiest season in years, Robert Williams III is positioned to attract free-agent offers starting between $10 million and $15 million annually. Teams remain cautious because of his injury history, a Western Conference executive told ESPN.

“When he plays, he’s good,” the executive said. “You just can’t expect him to start for you because he won’t be on the court if you play him that many minutes.”

With free agency approaching, league observers expect most clubs to keep their own young centers and guards, even at steep costs.
