Front-office conversations around the NBA are centering on several potential offseason moves, ranging from Michael Porter Jr.’s future with the Brooklyn Nets to Dean Wade’s market in free agency, according to a roundup by Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Nets

League executives continue to monitor Michael Porter Jr., who becomes extension-eligible this summer while entering the final season of his contract. The 28-year-old forward is scheduled to earn $40.8 million in 2026-27. Some evaluators doubt he aligns with Brooklyn’s youth-focused timeline.

Golden State looked into acquiring Porter before February’s trade deadline, but its cap constraints could complicate any renewed pursuit. Discussions at the time also involved guard Terance Mann, whose contract terms reportedly stalled progress. Mann remains highly valued inside the Nets organization for both his play and locker-room presence.

Raptors

Toronto faces several financial choices. Forward Sandro Mamukelashvili is expected to decline his player option and test unrestricted free agency in search of a significant raise. Rival teams believe he could command much of the non-taxpayer mid-level exception, raising doubts about the Raptors’ ability to retain him.

Executives around the league also view wing Gradey Dick as a possible trade chip if Toronto needs room below the luxury-tax threshold. Dick, 22, is entering the final year of his rookie contract after a disappointing season but is still considered a bounce-back candidate by some clubs.

Pelicans

New Orleans continues to seek a path back into the lottery. The Pelicans, who do not currently hold a 2024 first-round pick after last year’s trade-up, are attempting to obtain a top-10 selection that would position them to draft a specific target, Scotto reported. Any move is expected to be costly given their lack of first-round capital.

Cavaliers

Cleveland forward Dean Wade is projected to draw offers from multiple teams armed with the non-taxpayer mid-level exception once free agency opens. The Cavaliers, already operating near the top of the league’s payroll, hope to keep their core intact but may struggle to match competing bids for the 27-year-old.

The league’s transaction period opens July 1, when many of these situations could quickly escalate.
