Golden State Warriors

With head coach Steve Kerr already signed to a two-year extension, the Warriors have turned their attention to reshaping a roster Kerr says is not built for a title run in its current form. “We can’t legitimately look at our roster and say we are a championship contender right now,” the coach told reporters.

General manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. has publicly praised the team’s talent, but Kerr called for both personnel changes and a broader review of team operations. The Athletic’s Nick Friedell reports Draymond Green is expected to stay, while the futures of Al Horford and Kristaps Porzingis remain uncertain. Young center Quinten Post, who moved in and out of the rotation this year, is also far from a guaranteed role going forward.

The organization acknowledges that time is running short to rebuild a contender around its aging core.

Portland Trail Blazers

Portland still lacks clarity on No. 3 overall pick Scoot Henderson after a hamstring injury limited the rookie guard to 30 games. Evaluators remain split on his upside despite flashes of strong play, including moments in the postseason series against San Antonio.

“He has intangibles that you can’t teach,” one scout told Oregon Live, “but he has to learn to use them in an NBA game.” Questions about Henderson’s shooting consistency and ability to finish against NBA length persist.

The Blazers enter an uncertain offseason marked by new owner Tom Dundon’s arrival and an ongoing coaching search, with Henderson’s development now a central storyline.

Philadelphia 76ers

After injuries and a 25-game suspension limited him to 37 appearances, Paul George says he finally expects a “normal summer” to focus on training instead of rehabilitation. “It’s been stagnant the last couple years because of a surgery here or a surgery there,” George told the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Gina Mizell.

Philadelphia’s broader roster questions remain unsettled. Cap analyst Yossi Gozlan recently examined scenarios in which the club could explore trades involving Joel Embiid or George and projected new contracts for free agents Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond.

The Sixers face another pivotal offseason after their latest postseason disappointment.
