New York, NY — The New York Knicks have committed $24 million over four years to guard Landry Shamet, rewarding the veteran after his pivotal role in last season’s championship run.

Shamet, 29, joined the Knicks last year as the final player to make the roster and quickly turned into one of the league’s most reliable outside shooters. He hit six three-pointers during a 36-point outburst at one point in the season, capping a comeback from a shoulder dislocation that had threatened his career only a year earlier. Team officials believe his resurgence will translate into sustained production off the bench.

Atlanta Still Listening on Buddy Hield

The Atlanta Hawks have guaranteed Buddy Hield’s $9.7 million salary for 2026-27 but remain open to trade proposals, according to multiple reports. Hield, 33, saw limited minutes after arriving from Golden State late last season. With Atlanta adding free-agent guard Aaron Wiggins and selecting Kingston Flemings eighth overall, executives view Hield’s expiring deal and proven long-range shooting as potential midseason trade assets.

Kyle Anderson Heads to Toronto

The Toronto Raptors have reached a one-year agreement with forward Kyle Anderson. The 32-year-old gives Toronto additional depth behind Kawhi Leonard and Scottie Barnes after splitting last season among Utah, Memphis, and Minnesota. Anderson averaged 6.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while continuing to earn minutes with his versatility and defensive awareness. The move reunites him with Leonard, a former teammate during Leonard’s first four NBA seasons in San Antonio.
