The Portland Trail Blazers have added Minnesota Timberwolves assistant coach Micah Nori to their list of finalists for the franchise’s head-coaching vacancy, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.
Nori’s inclusion gives Portland three confirmed finalists. Interim head coach Tiago Splitter and Los Angeles Clippers lead assistant Jeff Van Gundy were previously reported as contenders, with the Blazers already seeking permission to interview Van Gundy.
Nori’s Coaching Background
Nori, 49, entered the NBA coaching ranks in 2009 with the Toronto Raptors. He later served on the staffs of the Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets and Detroit Pistons. He has spent the past five seasons in Minnesota and has been linked to multiple coaching searches in recent years, including last summer’s Dallas Mavericks opening.
The Trail Blazers have not announced a timeline for making a final decision.
