Neither the Dallas Mavericks nor the Washington Wizards ever entertained offers for Kyrie Irving or Anthony Davis, despite a wave of speculation linking both players to a potential reunion with LeBron James, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

League chatter suggested Irving might return to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a package involving James Harden. Team insiders, however, said no formal talks took place, and any such proposal would have been swiftly dismissed by Dallas. The Mavericks are focused on pairing Irving with reigning Rookie of the Year Cooper Flagg, whom the veteran guard mentored last season during his injury absence.

Washington’s stance on Davis is equally firm. The Wizards acquired the 11-time All-Star at February’s trade deadline and plan to evaluate a core built around Davis, Trae Young, No. 1 overall pick AJ Dybantsa, and former No. 2 selection Alex Sarr. Davis has publicly forecast a 40-plus-win season, an outlook the organization reportedly shares.

The speculation ended when James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, accepting the largest pay cut in NBA history in pursuit of another championship. Irving and Davis remain with their respective clubs, and league sources expect that to stay unchanged.
