The Sacramento Kings have brought back restricted free agent Daeqwon Plowden on a two-year contract worth $5.1 million, according to multiple reports.
The NBA’s transaction log shows the minimum-salary agreement became official at 10:00 p.m. Thursday. Earlier in the day, league sources told HoopsHype that the sides had reached terms, pending final approval.
Plowden, 27, went undrafted out of Bowling Green in 2022 and spent his first two professional seasons in the G League with the affiliate clubs of the New Orleans Pelicans and Orlando Magic. He signed a two-way deal with Golden State in the summer of 2024 but was waived before the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
The 6-4 guard/forward then joined Atlanta on an Exhibit 10 contract, earned a spot on the Hawks’ G League roster and was converted to a two-way contract in December 2024. Last summer he was sent to Phoenix in the seven-team trade that moved Kevin Durant to Houston and was immediately waived by the Suns.
Sacramento added Plowden on a two-way pact at the end of July 2025. He appeared in just one game early in the 2025-26 season but became a regular contributor late in the year when injuries thinned the Kings’ rotation. Over 32 games, he averaged 10.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 26.4 minutes while shooting 43.0% from the field, 33.3% from three-point range and 85.7% at the foul line.
The Kings extended a two-way qualifying offer to Plowden at the end of June, giving the club matching rights in free agency. With this new deal, he moves to the standard 15-man roster for the first time in his NBA career.
