SACRAMENTO — Kings forward Keegan Murray will remain sidelined for a minimum of two additional weeks as he continues to recover from a left ankle sprain, the team announced on Friday. The 23-year-old will be reevaluated at that time.

Murray initially hurt the ankle on January 4 and was out several weeks before returning on February 21. He aggravated the injury on February 25, only his fourth game back. Friday’s update extends a challenging season for the fourth-year player, who has appeared in just 23 games after missing time earlier with left thumb surgery and a mild calf strain.

Through those 23 outings, Murray is averaging 14.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 1.0 steal across 34.5 minutes. His 1.6 blocks per contest would mark a career high, though his .420 field-goal percentage and .277 three-point mark are career lows.

The Kings also reported that second-year guard Devin Carter underwent an MRI on his right calf after sustaining an injury during Tuesday’s career-best performance. Results revealed a deep soft-tissue contusion, and he is listed as day-to-day.

Sacramento sits at 16-51, the worst record in the Western Conference and the league’s second-worst overall.
