With the 2026 NBA Draft Combine complete, the Utah Jazz have moved into the medical-review phase of their draft prep. Holding the second overall selection, the club is awaiting full test results on Kansas guard Darryn Peterson, who appeared in just 24 college games while battling persistent hamstring trouble. Team officials will also begin hosting top prospects this week, a process expected to involve detailed interviews and dinners rather than strenuous on-court drills.

The Sacramento Kings, aiming to add youth to one of the league’s oldest rosters, will conduct a six-player workout Monday. North Carolina State guard Quadir Copeland, Kansas guard Melvin Council, Kansas wing Tre White, Northwestern forward Nick Martinelli, Auburn forward KeShawn Murphy, and Baylor center Caden Powell are scheduled to participate. Sacramento owns the seventh pick as well as selections 34 and 45; the workout group is likely competing for second-round consideration or undrafted free-agent slots. Martinelli is the highest of the six on ESPN’s Jeremy Woo big board at No. 53, while White, Murphy, and Powell are currently unranked.

League executives are also monitoring how the NBA’s revised lottery odds could influence the 2027 first-round pick Memphis acquired from Utah. The Jazz are projected to improve next season with a frontcourt of Lauri Markkanen, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Walker Kessler, the incoming No. 2 pick, and anticipated growth from Keyonte George and Ace Bailey. If Utah climbs the standings, Memphis could benefit, as the new format increases the chance of the conveyed pick leaping into the top six.

In international news, 21-year-old Greek center Alex Samodurov — an early entrant after logging minutes for Panathinaikos this season — has committed to North Carolina. Samodurov showcased emerging three-point range and solid rim protection during his stint in Greece.
