Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves may draw interest from the Utah Jazz in a potential sign-and-trade once free agency opens, according to a scenario outlined by salary-cap expert Eric Pincus in Bleacher Report.

Pincus did not report active negotiations, describing the concept as informed speculation. Still, the idea surfaces as Reaves is expected to decline his player option and enter unrestricted free agency, positioning him as one of the more attractive guards on the market.

The Lakers have repeatedly signaled a desire to keep Reaves, league reports say, but several franchises are believed to be exploring ways to lure him away from Los Angeles.

Utah’s possible involvement stems from its search for long-term core pieces. Reaves is coming off a career-best season in which he averaged 23.3 points, 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds while solidifying his role next to stars LeBron James and Luka Doncic.

Whether the Lakers would entertain moving Reaves remains uncertain. Most indications still point to the 25-year-old guard returning to Los Angeles, yet his name is likely to stay in theoretical trade discussions as the offseason nears.
