The Oklahoma City Thunder secured a 120-107 win over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, taking a 2-0 lead in their first-round series. The victory was tempered when forward Jalen Williams exited in the third quarter with what appeared to be a left hamstring injury.

Williams came up limping after landing from a fast-break layup attempt. Television replays showed the 25-year-old seemingly mouthing, “Left hammy,” before committing an intentional foul so he could leave the court. He did not return and declined post-game interviews.

Head coach Mark Daigneault offered a brief update: “We think he aggravated his left hamstring. We’ll take a look at it in the next couple of days and we’ll update you guys appropriately.” Asked about a potential timetable, Daigneault said any estimate would be “hypothetical at this point.”

Injuries have limited Williams throughout the 2025-26 campaign. After earning All-NBA and All-Defensive honors in 2024-25, he missed the season’s start while recovering from wrist surgery and later sat extended stretches with right hamstring problems, appearing in only 33 regular-season games. Despite his absence, the defending champions went 39-10 without him and 25-8 when he played.

Williams had started the postseason strongly, scoring 22 points on 9-of-15 shooting in Sunday’s Game 1 and adding 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting before Wednesday’s injury. “He was playing an outstanding game,” Daigneault said. “He was on the gas, hitting shots, creating good looks for his teammates.”

No further details on the severity of the injury or Williams’ status for Game 3 have been released.
