MINNEAPOLIS / LOS ANGELES / SAN ANTONIO — Anthony Edwards will be available for the Timberwolves in Wednesday’s Game 2 against the Spurs after being listed as questionable earlier in the day because of lingering knee soreness from a first-round hyperextension.

The All-Star guard came off the bench in Game 1 and logged 18 points in 25 minutes during Minnesota’s upset win. Head coach Chris Finch told reporters he hopes to loosen Edwards’ minutes restriction tonight, though the 22-year-old will again enter from the bench, according to the team.

Spurs Clear Carter Bryant

San Antonio forward Carter Bryant, sidelined for Game 1 with a right foot sprain, has been cleared for Game 2. His availability was confirmed following pre-game warmups. Bryant appeared in only 46 total minutes during the first round but gives the Spurs needed size to contend with Minnesota’s Julius Randle.

Lakers Proceed Cautiously With Luka Doncic

Lakers star Luka Doncic remains out as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Speaking to reporters, Doncic said he is wary of returning too quickly after previous experiences of coming back prematurely from injuries: “It’s the first time I have a hamstring injury. You have to be very careful,” he noted.

Los Angeles already expects to be without two rotation pieces for Game 2. Forward Jarred Vanderbilt is listed as doubtful with a finger injury, while guard Luke Kennard is also doubtful because of neck soreness.
