The Minnesota Timberwolves have designated Anthony Edwards as questionable for Saturday’s Game 1 against the Denver Nuggets because of right knee injury maintenance, the club announced Friday.
Despite the listing, the 24-year-old guard completed on-court work after practice. The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski indicated he expects Edwards to play when the Western Conference semifinal opens in Denver.
Hornets’ Diabate Cleared
Moussa Diabate, Charlotte’s starting center, was upgraded from questionable to available for Friday night’s play-in matchup at Orlando. The winners of Friday’s play-in games will claim the No. 8 seed in each conference; the losers will be eliminated.
Raptors’ Quickley Still Day-to-Day
Immanuel Quickley is questionable for Saturday’s Game 1 in Cleveland. The Toronto point guard strained his right hamstring during the regular-season finale on April 12 and has also been managing right foot plantar fasciitis. “Just day-to-day, trying to take care of myself so I can be back on the floor with my teammates,” Quickley told reporters.
Cavaliers Rule Out Bryant
Cleveland backup center Thomas Bryant will miss Saturday’s contest versus Toronto with a left calf strain, the team confirmed. The 28-year-old sat out the final four games of the regular season and is set to enter free agency this summer after averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 12.2 minutes across 60 appearances, shooting .506/.359/.803.
