The Charlotte Hornets announced Monday that forward Brandon Miller has undergone surgery to correct instability in his left shoulder. The club did not provide a timetable for his return, listing him as out indefinitely and promising updates when available.
Miller, 22, missed 27 games in the 2024-25 campaign because of a wrist injury but rebounded with a breakout third season. He averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 30.3 minutes over 65 starts, shooting 43.5% from the field, 38.3% from three-point range and 89.2% at the free-throw line.
The Hornets went 41-24 in games Miller played and just 3-14 without him. His longest absence came early in the year, when a left shoulder subluxation sidelined him for 13 straight contests. Although he returned in late November and missed only four additional games, he continued to wear protective gear on the shoulder, which never fully healed.
The procedure arrives ahead of an offseason in which Miller becomes one of 23 players eligible for a rookie-scale contract extension.
