Atlanta Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye had surgery Wednesday to repair a fracture in his left foot, the team announced. He is scheduled for a follow-up evaluation in approximately three to four months.
According to Lauren L. Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the 23-year-old was injured during a workout. Subsequent MRI imaging confirmed the break, prompting the immediate procedure.
Gueye appeared in 77 regular-season games last season, starting eight, and played in all six first-round contests against the New York Knicks. With Jock Landale sidelined, the 6-foot-11 reserve served as Atlanta’s primary backup center, averaging 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game during his third NBA campaign.
The projected timetable means Gueye is expected to miss the entire offseason program and could remain unavailable when the 2026-27 season begins.
