MEMPHIS — The Grizzlies used the third overall selection in the 2026 NBA Draft to take Duke forward Cameron Boozer, the team confirmed Thursday night.
Boozer, 19, leaves Durham after a standout freshman season in which he was named a consensus first-team All-American and the Associated Press College Basketball Player of the Year. The 6-9 forward averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 1.4 steals in 33.4 minutes over 38 games, shooting 55.6% from the field, 39.1% from three-point range and 78.9% at the free-throw line.
Though not regarded as an explosive leaper or elite rim protector, Boozer has earned praise for his basketball IQ, instincts and quick decision-making. He is the son of former two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.
The Miami native also boasts an extensive international résumé, having captured gold medals with USA Basketball at the 2023 FIBA U16 Americas Championship and the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup, earning Most Valuable Player honors at both tournaments.
More details on Memphis’s draft night plans are expected as the evening continues.
