Olympiacos forward Sasha Vezenkov has been voted the EuroLeague’s Most Valuable Player for the 2025/26 campaign, the league announced.
The 30-year-old also captured the award in 2022/23, making him just the second two-time recipient after former NBA guard Anthony Parker, who now serves as general manager of the Orlando Magic.
Key numbers from Vezenkov’s season
• Led the EuroLeague in scoring with 19.4 points per game
• Shot 54.3% from the field, 39.6% from three and 89.2% at the line
• Added 6.6 rebounds across 34 appearances (28.4 minutes each)
• Guided Olympiacos to a league-best 26-12 record
How the MVP was decided
The award is determined by a weighted vote—head coaches and team captains each account for 35%, media 20%, and fans 10%. Vezenkov finished ahead of Žalgiris Kaunas guard Sylvain Francisco and Hapoel Tel Aviv wing Elijah Bryant.
Career path
Selected 57th overall by Brooklyn in the 2017 NBA draft, Vezenkov remained in Europe before signing a multiyear deal with the Sacramento Kings in 2023. He averaged 5.4 points and 2.3 rebounds over 42 games during his lone NBA season. Traded to Toronto in the 2024 offseason, he relinquished his entire 2024/25 salary in a buyout to rejoin Olympiacos on a new multiyear agreement.
All-EuroLeague Teams
Vezenkov headlines the All-EuroLeague First Team alongside Francisco, Bryant, Olympiacos center Nikola Milutinov and Valencia Basket guard Jean Montero, who also collected the Rising Star trophy. The Second Team features former NBA players Wade Baldwin, Tyler Dorsey, Talen Horton-Tucker, Kendrick Nunn and Walter Tavares.
