Minneapolis, MN — The Minnesota Timberwolves expect guard Anthony Edwards to be back in uniform Tuesday against the Dallas Mavericks. Edwards will take part in a full workout Sunday and join Monday’s shootaround, a plan that could end a six-game absence caused by a knee injury, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic.

“We can’t relax now that Ant’s coming back,” veteran guard Mike Conley said, stressing that the offense must keep moving the ball even with the All-Star on the floor.

Edwards needs to appear in each of Minnesota’s eight remaining regular-season contests to reach the 65-game minimum required for postseason awards.

Hawks Surge Under Snyder

Atlanta, GA — Quin Snyder registered his 500th career coaching victory as the Atlanta Hawks beat their latest opponent, extending the club’s run to 15 wins in 17 outings. “It was special,” Snyder told the Associated Press, crediting the players he has coached for the milestone.

Center Jock Landale praised the coach’s impact, calling Snyder “a great coach to play for.” Atlanta sits at 42-33 and remains firmly in the Eastern Conference race.

Hornets’ Streak Ends in Philadelphia

Charlotte, NC — The Charlotte Hornets’ five-game winning streak ended with a fourth-quarter collapse against the Philadelphia 76ers. Head coach Charles Lee cited defensive lapses. “Our shot-making can’t affect our defense,” Lee said, pointing to back-door cuts and second-chance points surrendered in crunch time.

Charlotte had won 23 of its previous 29 games behind up-tempo ball movement, a rhythm that disappeared late on Saturday.
