The Chicago Bulls have started formal interviews for their top basketball operations opening, securing permission to meet with several league executives, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
The list includes Cleveland Cavaliers general manager Mike Gansey, Minnesota Timberwolves GM Matt Lloyd, Detroit Pistons senior vice president Dennis Lindsey, Atlanta Hawks senior vice president Bryson Graham and San Antonio Spurs assistant GM Dave Telep. Chicago also intends to speak with Creative Artists Agency basketball head Austin Brown.
Gansey has overseen Cleveland’s roster since 2022 and previously earned G League Executive of the Year honors in 2017 while running the Canton Charge. A former standout at Olmsted Falls High School, he finished second to LeBron James in the 2003 Ohio Mr. Basketball voting and later helped West Virginia reach the 2005 NCAA Elite Eight.
Lloyd began his NBA career with Chicago in 1999 before front-office stops in Orlando and Minnesota. Lindsey, a longtime league executive, is part of Detroit’s recent rise in the Eastern Conference standings. Graham gained a reputation for talent evaluation during a lengthy tenure in New Orleans, while Telep blends scouting experience with a decade in the Spurs’ system. Brown, a Chicago native, represents several high-profile players and has previously been considered for NBA front-office roles, including with the Bulls.
The interviews follow the Bulls’ decision earlier this month to part ways with Artūras Karnišovas and Marc Eversley, signaling a full reset of the organization’s basketball leadership.
