The Milwaukee Bucks remain in discussions with multiple clubs about a potential trade involving two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, but the organization is not satisfied with the Miami Heat’s current offer.
Windhorst reported that Milwaukee is “engaged with teams other than Miami” because it “doesn’t love” the packages the Heat have presented. Miami has added assets since February and can now center a proposal on the No. 13 pick in next week’s NBA Draft along with several rotation players, including Wisconsin native Tyler Herro, plus prospects.
The Boston Celtics are also on Antetokounmpo’s list of preferred destinations, Windhorst said, while the Minnesota Timberwolves and other clubs are viewed as potential dark-horse suitors.
Bucks co-owner Jimmy Haslam told reporters he hopes to resolve Antetokounmpo’s future before the draft, which starts in one week. Windhorst cautioned that negotiations remain “painstaking and prone to falling apart,” leaving open the possibility that the 29-year-old forward stays in Milwaukee.
