Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens said Wednesday he has seen no signs that guard Jaylen Brown is unhappy with the organization, countering comments made earlier in the day by Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady.

During an appearance on the “Cousins” podcast with Vince Carter, McGrady—who has mentored Brown—asserted that the 27-year-old is “frustrated” following Boston’s first-round playoff exit. McGrady suggested the feeling stems from issues inside the franchise and Brown’s expanded role while Jayson Tatum missed nearly two months with a torn Achilles.

Stevens addressed reporters at his end-of-season press conference shortly after the podcast was released. “I talked to Jaylen Monday… and it was nothing but positive,” he said. “He has not expressed those frustrations to me.” Stevens added that his office remains open to any player who wants to discuss concerns.

With Tatum sidelined until early March, Brown averaged career highs of 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists over 71 games, putting him in the conversation for All-NBA First Team honors. Despite calling 2025-26 his “favorite season,” Brown could not prevent the defending champions from an early playoff exit.

Brown is signed through the 2028-29 campaign and is owed $58.5 million, $62.8 million and $67.1 million over the next three seasons. His long-term deal limits any immediate leverage to seek a trade should dissatisfaction exist.

Stevens emphasized that his availability extends to every player on the 16-man roster, not only Brown or Tatum. “I think it’s really important to be available,” he said. “None of that has been expressed to me.”
