Despite a flurry of summer moves, the Phoenix Suns still expect Devin Booker to handle most of the scoring and playmaking duties in 2026-27, according to Duane Rankin of the Arizona Republic.

Roster Tweaks

Phoenix kept guards Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin as well as center Mark Williams, signed veteran sharpshooter Luke Kennard, and acquired forward Miles Bridges via trade. Outgoing pieces included reliable three-point threats Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale. The club is also counting on a healthier campaign from Jalen Green.

Booker, who has not won a playoff game since 2023, is expected to steer the team toward improved postseason results.

Bridges’ Legal Dispute

Bridges and former partner Mychelle Johnson continue to trade allegations. Johnson told TMZ the forward filed criminal charges against her for throwing water in an effort to have her arrested and separated from their children. She also alleged Bridges tried to hit her with a golf cart during a custody exchange, prompting the water incident.

Earlier this year, Bridges secured a temporary restraining order after accusing Johnson of cyberstalking and attempting to damage his car at a game—claims she denies. Bridges missed the 2022-23 season and served a 10-game suspension the following year stemming from domestic-violence charges.

Summer League Highlights

Second-year center Khaman Maluach opened Las Vegas play with 19 points and 11 rebounds against Portland before exiting in the fourth quarter with leg cramps. “I just have to hydrate better,” he said. He followed with 15 points and 15 boards in Sunday’s contest.

First-round rookie Koa Peat is auditioning as a point forward. After a slow start in his Vegas debut, the Arizona product scored 13 of his 17 points after halftime on 4-for-5 shooting, showcasing downhill drives, playmaking skills, and two-way activity.
