The Portland Trail Blazers have broadened their head-coaching search, arranging an interview this weekend with former NBA All-Star Jerry Stackhouse, according to The Stein Line.

Stackhouse, an 18-year NBA veteran, has since built an extensive coaching résumé that includes stints on the staffs of the Raptors, Grizzlies and Warriors, as well as head-coaching roles at Vanderbilt University and with Raptors 905 in the G League.

League sources told NBA insider Chris Haynes that Portland is also impressed with Utah Jazz assistant Mike Williams, who has gained notice as a promising young coach.

Jake Fischer reported that Boston Celtics staffer Tyler Lashbrook has advanced in the process, joining an expanding list of candidates that over the past 24 hours has featured Jeff Van Gundy, Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori and interim Blazers coach Tiago Splitter.

Fischer and Marc Stein added that the search has been difficult for league observers to track because prospects are interviewing with different figures inside the organization, including general manager Joe Cronin and owner Tom Dundon.

According to Stein, Dundon wants a coach who is prepared to hold players accountable and coach them hard.
