Veteran guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has reached a two-year agreement worth $6.5 million with the Miami Heat, according to multiple people familiar with the negotiations.
The deal, finalized on Tuesday, June 30, adds additional perimeter scoring to a roster now centered on two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo. Miami’s front office has made bolstering the rotation around Antetokounmpo its top priority this offseason.
Hardaway Jr., 34, is expected to provide outside shooting and playoff experience as the Heat look to reclaim a spot among the Eastern Conference elite. Contract terms place him within the team’s mid-level exception, preserving salary-cap flexibility for further moves.
The Heat did not immediately announce when Hardaway Jr. will be introduced, but training camp is scheduled to open in early October.
