Guard Coby White is set to stay with the Charlotte Hornets on a three-year contract worth $74 million, according to sources who spoke with ESPN.
The new deal, which cannot be finalized until the league’s signing moratorium is lifted, would keep White in Charlotte through the 2026-27 season and removes one of the top young guards from this summer’s free-agent market.
White, drafted seventh overall in 2019, has become a key piece in the Hornets’ backcourt rotation. Retaining him was considered a priority for the organization as it looks to solidify its young core.
Specific contract structures—such as year-by-year salary breakdowns or incentive clauses—were not immediately available.
The Hornets and White’s representatives have not publicly commented on the reported agreement.
