Pistons hold narrow halftime lead in Game 4 against Cavaliers

The Detroit Pistons carried a 60-56 advantage into halftime of Game 4 of their Eastern Conference semifinal matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night in Cleveland.
Detroit, which entered the night ahead 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, shot 55 percent from the field during the first two quarters and built its largest lead at 11 points. Cleveland connected on 39 percent of its attempts but stayed close by going 13-for-16 at the foul line.
Key performers
Caris LeVert paced the Pistons with 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting, while Tobias Harris added 15 points and eight rebounds. Rookie center Jalen Duren chipped in six points and two boards.
James Harden led the Cavaliers with 15 points, converting all six of his free throws, and Evan Mobley posted 11 points and two rebounds. Center Jarrett Allen grabbed 13 rebounds for Cleveland.

Detroit opened the second quarter on a 12-3 run, but Cleveland cut the margin to four when Mobley slammed home a Harden assist with 9.2 seconds left in the half. Harris answered with a driving layup 22 seconds earlier to briefly restore a double-digit lead.
The contest at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse is being televised nationally on NBC and Peacock. The officiating crew consists of Tre Maddox, Marc Davis, Josh Tiven and Mitchell Ervin.
Game 5 is scheduled for Wednesday in Detroit. If necessary, the series would return to Cleveland for Game 6 and finish at Little Caesars Arena for Game 7.
