DENVER — The Denver Nuggets have no intention of dealing franchise cornerstone Nikola Jokic, team president said Friday, May 9, 2026, two days after the club’s abrupt postseason elimination.
“Our position on Nikola hasn’t changed,” the executive told reporters at Ball Arena. “He is the foundation of everything we do.”
The pledge of loyalty came after Denver’s second-round loss, a result the president called “unacceptable for our standards.” He added that front-office discussions will focus on roster upgrades around the two-time MVP, not on moving him.
Jokic, 31, averaged 26.4 points, 11.8 rebounds and 8.3 assists during the regular season. The center is signed through the 2027-28 campaign.
While acknowledging the need for offseason changes, the president reiterated that any trade talk involving Jokic is “off the table.”
