The NBA has levied fines against New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson and Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels for their involvement in an on-court altercation during Game 6 of the teams’ Eastern Conference first-round series.

Robinson was fined $50,000, while Daniels received a $25,000 penalty, the league announced Friday, May 1, 2026.

The incident occurred with 4:39 remaining in the second quarter of New York’s 140-89 series-clinching victory Thursday night at Madison Square Garden. Both players were assessed technical fouls and ejected.

According to the NBA, the skirmish began when the two “became entangled while battling for position during a free throw attempt.” The league cited Robinson’s “inappropriate post on social media in reference to the incident postgame” as the reason for his higher fine.

The ejection and fine do not affect Robinson’s availability for Game 1 of the Knicks’ upcoming Eastern Conference semifinal against either Boston or Philadelphia.
