Three Michigan players projected to go in the first round of Thursday’s NBA Draft voiced full confidence on Monday that their former college coach, Dusty May, will thrive when he reaches the professional level.

The trio told reporters on June 22 that May’s approach and track record at Michigan convinced them he can handle the NBA’s demands. All three prospects said they look forward to seeing him on an NBA bench next season and believe his transition will be smooth.

May coached the Wolverines during the group’s final season in Ann Arbor. While none of the players offered specific predictions, each stressed that May’s preparation and ability to relate to athletes should translate well in the league.

No timetable has been announced for May’s expected move to the NBA, but the former Michigan coach is widely reported to be weighing offers to join a professional staff.
